Besides Appiano Castle and Corba Castle, Castel Boymont is one of the three destinations of the famous Appiano Castle Walk

Boymont or Boimont Castle is enthroned on a hill near Missiano (Missian) in Appiano. Already in Iron Age there were settlements in this place, which is proven by various findings such as a bronze fibula. Boymont Castle itself, however, was presumably built by the Lords of Boymont in the Romanesque period, between 1220 and 1230, the heyday of Tyrol's castle building period. In 1425, a fire destroyed great parts of the complex, but the remains are still impressive: the great hall with its triforia in the curtain wall, the donjon and the castle chapel with the east-facing apse.
However, strikingly evident are the lines according to which Boymont Castle (Schloss Boymont, in German) was built. The rectangular construction is not a typical High Middle Age building. Moreover hardly any alterations and renovations were carried out. The still Romanesque castle ruin is consolidated and represents today one of the three destinations of the Appiano Castle Walk. It can be found above Corba Castle and welcomes its guests with a tavern inside its walls.
