Charming little wooden stalls line the decorated market square of Caldaro, Christmas music fills the air, and lights bathe the wine village in a very special, atmospheric ambience. On the Advent weekends, the small Christmas market invites you to stroll and soak in the festive atmosphere. A majestic fir tree, adorned with stars and lights, stands proudly in the market square. On the village fountain, burning candles form a glowing circle, and throughout the village, decorated Christmas trees enhance the festive ambiance.
Young visitors can look forward to a horse-drawn carriage, the fairytale forest in a beautiful courtyard, where stories are read, festive handicraft workshops and the much sought-after model railway exhibition. There are also a few other highlights not to be missed, such as the exhibition of Krampus masks in the former Le Carceri prison and Christmas concerts in the parish church. On December 5, the spectacular Krampus run will provide excitement, and on December 6, St. Nicholas comes for a visit.
