Above Ora, 12 km away in Trodena in the nature park, Advent is celebrated as it used to be

Local associations, traditional groups and companies ensure that the weeks in December in the small municipality of Trodena in the Monte Corno Nature Park, just a few kilometres off the South Tyrolean Wine Road, get a special flair. A small Christmas market is as much part of the Advent season as the evening hike to the Cislon Mountain Hut (1,249 m a.s.l.), impressive especially when snow covers the landscape in South Tyrol's southernmost nature park.
But the "Trodena Mountain Advent" has even more events on offer: for example, the conscious experience of South Tyrolean customs is also in the foreground. At the beginning of December, the "Trudner Tuifl" meet in the street for the Krampus procession, and in the days before or after, St. Nicholas parades through the village and brings the children some little goodies, as tradition wants.
Other highlights are alternately included: a petting zoo for the little visitors, a nativity scene exhibition, "Grandpa's Christmas Workshop", the traditional "Scheldern" in the alleys and concerts in the parish church. And of course, the culinary delicacies that warm you from the inside must not be missing. The smell of cloves and sweets fills the air...
