One of the peaks of the Mendola Ridge in the Oltradige area is called Mt. La Cerva (Paterkopf, in German) and can be recognized by its giant wooden summit cross. With its 1,856 m a.s.l., the mountain is one of the higher elevations of the quite low mountain ridge. The stunning view from the top includes the Dolomites as well as the Oltradige and the Bassa Atesina areas.
The summit of Mt. La Cerva can be integrated into a hike to Mt. Roen, Mt. Lira or the Rif. Oltradige mountain hut. A challenging tour starts from Castelvecchio (Altenburg) in Caldaro, whereas the more pleasant option begins with the ascent by the Mendola Funicular to the Mendola Pass and continues on a trail with a moderate climb to the top of the panoramic mountain.
