The little St. Maurice Church north of Termeno dates back to the 13th century, that’s to say to the time of the crusaders

In Sella (Söll), a district of Termeno, there has been a church dedicated to St. Maurice, the patron saint of the army and of knife smiths and armoury since time immemorial. This area at the north of Termeno was already populated during the Roman times, in the year 1260, a St. Maurice Church in Sella was first mentioned in a document. The present little church has some Romanesque parts from the 13th century, as the tower with domed round arched windows and pyramid roof.
The church itself is Gothic (except the left nave), above a small window the inscription "anno dni m xxxx lxx iar" on the outside reminds that this addition was made in 1470 AD. The church's patron saint can be seen in a fresco depicting an equestrian battle, thus showing that the church's origins date back to the time of the crusaders: Maurice was once the commander of the Theban Legion. Inside, there is an altar in the side aisle with picture plates of Adam and Eve from Bartlmä Dill Riemenschneider, as also some frescos on the west wall from the life of Jesus.
