Preschoolers, schoolchildren and students - from elementary through high school - may know the Cortile - Theater im Hof in the town centre. It offers a broad variety of performances in German language the whole year round. The little stage in an inner courtyard behind the Piazza delle Erbe square hosts the plays and shows of national and international artists such as "Sophie und die kleine Raupe" (Sophie and the little caterpillar) and "Der Kleine Prinz" (The Little Prince).

The theatre was founded in 1989 as "Theater in der Hoffnung", a non-profit association with the goal to offer cultural events for children, young people and adults. It is funded by the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation. The performances, which in the afternoon are offered for families with children, can be booked in the morning by preschool and school classes. The offer is completed by theatre courses, concerts and events such as the participation in the annual "Kinderfestival".
