The Town Festival in Bolzano’s historical centre is held every two years under the motto “Be King Laurin’s guest”
At the beginning of September, in every odd year, the main town of Bolzano invites to the traditional "Bolzano Town Festival" (Stadtfest Bozen, in German). It is dedicated to King Laurin and its Rosengarten, a beautiful mountain massif called Catinaccio which can be seen from the Talvera Bridge, at the entrance to the old town where the festival takes place. Several clubs in the social, cultural and sporting fields and the committee of the municipality organise the three-day event. The profit, however, is used to support the non-profit activities of the single associations.
There's much to discover, listen to, try and taste: The single booths offer South Tyrolean delicacies and exquisite wines as well as games and entertainment for the young and the old, whereas live music is played on the stages and the central Piazza Walther square. The festival is inaugurated on Friday evening on the Piazza Walther square, then the party continues until midnight. Saturday, however, is completely dedicated to live music on eleven stages. On Sunday at 10 pm it is time to say goodbye for the next two years - until King Laurin turns back to reign for three days in Bolzano.
