A wine trail is one of the numerous projects and part of the concept of the successful Caldaro cooperative wein.kaltern. This wein.weg is designed to introduce visitors to the names of the various vineyard sites and grape varieties during a pleasant walk. The trail starts at the Piazza dei Rottenburg square in Caldaro (Kaltern) and runs in a loop through the village and its vineyards down to Lake Caldaro (trail no. 12). As path no. 3, it then leads back to Caldaro, offers another section to Pianizza di Sopra and Pianizza di Sotto and then returns to the starting point again.
The wein.weg (literally: wine.trail) has a special feature: On the ground you can read the name of the respective cultivation area you are just walking by, always at the beginning and end of it. Names such as "Prunar", "Palurisch", "Garnellen" or "Puntara" and many others are mentioned there and offer a little more information about Caldaro and its culture. In spring and summer the tourist office offers guided walks with wine tasting.
