South Tyrolean wine producers, chefs, experts and sommeliers meet in Bolzano in spring for the traditional wine tasting

The "Bozner Weinkost" (Bolzano Wine Tasting) is one of the most traditional events in the region: Its history dates back to 1896, when the central Torgglhaus invited guests to taste and evaluate 100 wines. Even then, Bolzano was already considered a wine town with its mild climate and historic wine farms. This event soon became known as the "Bolzano Spring Wine Market" and developed into the "Bolzano Wine Tasting" as we know it today: a meeting place for wine producers, connoisseurs and chefs, which takes place inside the venerable walls of Mareccio Castle.
The season stays the same: The event, which lasts several days, still takes place in spring, usually in mid-April. Today there are presented 200 of the best white, red, rosé and sparkling wines from the winegrowing regions in the South of South Tyrol, the Valle Isarco valley and the Merano area. These wines come both from large and small South Tyrolean wineries. A broad culinary offer and a framework programme with music and a Sauvignon tasting are part of the event every year. The "Bolzano Wine Tasting" is organised by the Bolzano Tourist Office and Slow Food. Cheers!
