A pleasant cycle tour through the Valle dell’Adige valley awaits us between Bolzano, Appiano and the spa town of Merano

We start our round tour in Terlano, but you can choose any other locality along the route. The tour is especially beautiful in autumn and spring (April to June) and leads on main roads and the cycle track through the fruit- and wine-growing region as well as through the village centres of Terlano, Andriano, Vilpiano and Nalles. From the Dr. Weiser Square in Terlano we follow the old Merano road towards north (Vilpiano). In front of the church we branch off on the right to the train station, cross the railway tracks, the Adige river and the MeBo (Merano-Bolzano) highway before reaching Nalles on the western side of the valley.
A small main road proceeds towards south to Andriano - we follow the signposts towards Riva di Sotto (Unterrain). At the Pillhof commercial zone we have to cross the Appiano main road at the roundabout and continue straight to the nearby village of Frangarto. The main road continues beneath Castel Firmiano slightly uphill - at the junction we cycle towards Bolzano. Right before the level crossing of the Ponte d'Adige railway station, we branch off onto the Bolzano-Merano Cycle Path on the left. We follow it until Terlano, our starting point.
