Walking from the Kaiserberg to the Marklhof and further on across the famous vineyard of Cornaiano

The Ponte Adige station is the starting point for this tour. At the Mendelhof tavern, the trail no. 1 starts. After having traversed the railway, this trail branches off on the left, leading towards the castle and stretching its way up on a beautiful panoramic trail. Past the parking space of the Messner Mountain Museum, the trail across the beautiful broad-leaf forest covering the Kaiserberg starts. Especially now, at the beginning of May, the forest captivates with its wide range of green colours. Glades make you sneak a peek on the vineyards between Frangarto and Cornaiano.
After 40 minutes of walking, we reach the Marklhof, then we continue past the Girlanerhof, via an asphalted road across the vineyards, always following the sign-post number 1. The small but mighty village of Colterenzio is the final destination of our excursion, it represents a real gem of wine-growing farmsteads, with a romantic church and a village fountain. The way back can be walked within less than one hour. Ideal tour in spring and autumn, not recommendable on hot summer days!
