This hike at the foot of Mount Cislon, accompanied by the first heralds of spring, offers a wonderful view on the Bassa Atesina area

Spring has started early this year so we choose the Malga Cislon mountain hut - usually a popular excursion destination during summer months - for our hike on this warm April day. We start our walk at the parking space near the Trodena fire station and follow the wide path no. 2 in a norherly direction towards Cislon. The view opens up on the snow-capped peaks of the Corno Bianco and Corno Nero. At the foot of the 1,563 m high Mount Cislon the trail enters the pine forest and we continue our hike on the path no. 3 towards Cislon.
Arrived at a clearing we see the Cislon Mountain Hut in front of us (1,249 m a.s.l.). After a short break we walk through an alpine landscape characterised by pines, mountain avens, alpine clematis and yellow saxifrage. Enjoying the view on the Lagorai mountain chain, the Tessa Group and the Valle dell'Adige valley with Cortaccia and Magrè, we continue on the paths no. 1 and 3A. The latter takes us straight back to the village of Trodena, our starting point. Due to the fact that spring has started early this year, the hike can already be done in April. Otherwise it's suitable especially during summer months.
