From Ora to the 1,000 m higher located village of Aldino - this hiking tour with a steep ascent on the "Katzenleiter" path we want to discover today. Starting point is the parking space near the lido of Ora. We take the path no. 1 through the forest which proceeds along the Rio Nero river and continues on the "Katzenleiter" (lit. Cat Ladder), a steep stepped path which proceeds along the pressure line of the hydro, starts. At rocky spots the view opens to the waterfall in the gorge and across the Val d’Adige valley near Ora.
After about 1 hour we reach the junction with the path no. 1A. Here, at 650 m a.s.l., the "Katzenleiter" path ends, path no. 1A proceeds back into the valley. But we stay on the path no. 1, and walk further past meadows and farms and then through the forest to the mountain village of Aldino. There we take the public bus back to Ora. Avoid this hiking tour on hot days!
