When the summer heat becomes too much to bear, there are plenty of options in the south of South Tyrol. You can either retreat to the fresh, cooler air of the mountains or enjoy the water, where you can cool off to your heart’s content. Fortunately, the area between Nalles (Nals) and Salorno (Salurn) is home to a large number of lidos and swimming pools that offer this leisure activity.
The lakes complement the range of options for all nature lovers and those who prefer to avoid chlorinated water. The two Monticolo Lakes, Lake Caldaro and Lake Favogna above Cortaccia are a real treat for swimmers, as they are set in a landscape that offers plenty of other activities too.
