The village of Gleno is located at the fertile south-west slopes of the Cislon mountain

Gleno belongs to the municipality of Montagna and is made up of a dispersed settlement extending along the small road to Trodena. Standing at the northern side of the Valle dei Molini valley, there is a beautiful waterfall of the Trodena river, rushing below us. On the opposite side of the valley, there is the Caldiff ruin at Mazzon, belonging to the municipality of Egna, guarding the Valle dei Molini.
On the slope above Glen, there is another building with a particular tower. It belongs to the Thalerhof farm where Ettore Tolomei, father of numerous translations of South Tyrolean village names, had lived. A topic that still causes political discussions in South Tyrol today.
