The village is known for its historical centre with Renaissance and baroque buildings. In the rear part of Salorno village, there is a waterfall rushing down into the depth, above all after heavy rainfalls.
Personalities such as Martin Luther, Albrecht Dürer, Ludwig Richter and Napoleon were guests in this village. Above all Albrecht Dürer, an artist of the period of humanism and reformation, left traces. On his journey to Venice, he had to eschew due to the floodings of the Adige river. Therefore he decided to continue his walk across the Valle di Cembra valley towards south.
Today this trail is known as the Dürerweg trail (Sentiero del Dürer) and is a well-frequented hiking trail. Due to its strategic position, within one hour you can reach Lake Garda, Verona or Merano and in a two and a half hours' car drive you reach Venice or Cortina d'Ampezzo.
