Termeno takes you a bit further to the sunny south of Italy. And this might be seen at the first glance. At 276 m a.s.l., the pretty village of Termeno with its 3,300 inhabitants is waiting for you. This is the place where a particular wine has its origins: the “Gewürztraminer”.
In the north, the municipal area of Termeno borders on Lake Caldaro, the warmest lake for bathing in the Alpine area. At the village border, there is a sports and adventure pool, where water rats can rage and riot.
The landscape is characterised by a rather Mediterranean flair, on which also cypresses, fig trees, lemon trees and olive trees grow, representing a notable contrast to the 2,113 m high Monte Roen, rising above Termeno. If you come to scale this mountain, you are rewarded with a great view on the mountains of Trentino and South Tyrol, from the Dolomites to the Ortles mountain range.
In the last years, Termeno has become a very popular destination for those who love cycling: more and more enjoy the tours at the southern Wine Road or the Val d’Adige cycle track, stretching past Termeno. The Mendola mountain ridge and Monte Regolo provide a welcome change for those who seek the challenges - there are routes for every level of difficulty and taste.
